Particle Physics
Particle Physics at UNM includes detailed studies of the Standard Model (the 4% of the universe that we partially understand) and the search for physics Beyond the Standard Model (the 96% of the universe that we would like to understand).
Our programs include:
- Experiments in Collider Physics, Direct (laboratory) and Indirect (particle astrophysics) searches for Dark Matter, searches for Rare Decays and the development of new Instrumentation essential for the next generation of these experiments
- Theory/phenomenological studies of Neutrino physics, Dark Matter, and Cosmology/Inflation.
Virtually all of our programs include collaborative work at nearby Los Alamos National Laboratory.
